Freshwater Fish Aquariums

This covers a selection of my personal favorite freshwater aquarium species images from recent years. In addition to the photographic work, you can also find selected reports, primarily focused on the breeding of certain species, as well as general aquaristic topics and technical aspects. For aquarium macro photography I use a Nikon D850 full-frame in combination with a LAOWA 100mm f/2.8 2:1 Ultra Macro APO for most images. Lighting is controlled via an SU-800 commander, which can trigger up to four R200 slave flashes. The aperture is typically set to around f/30 to achieve maximum depth of field. ISO settings are adjusted depending on lighting conditions, up to ISO 1600. Tank photography: The same Nikon D850 setup as described above is used. In addition, a fast 35 mm f/1.4 lens from Sigma is employed.
